THE BAT
THE BAT- Stars Agnes Moorehead, Vincent Price and a grown up Darla Hood.
This one is meant to be a B-Movie, done in 3D with a drive-in quality performance by Agnes Moorehead as Cornelia van Gorder (not Goilter). Cornelia (or "Miss Corny" as her maid calls her) rents a summer home in a small New England town. Everyone in town thinks the house is haunted, because of a series of unsolved murders that took place over the winter months...
When in actuality the haunting was a diversion from anyone going near the house because there's a hidden room filled with a stolen bank loot ( ala-Scooby Doo).
Appearently this was a remake of a silent film by the same title in 1926 ...but this remake is better because you can actually hear the screams instead of reading it on the screen, besides, Vincent Price is always a treat in any movie! You get to see a grown up Darla Hood from the "Little Rascals" along with some great rubber bats dangling-from-wire flying effects.
In addition to the 3D flying rubber bats, the audience are also treated to Agnes Moorehead run around in some off-the shoulder night gowns and some hints of her cleavage...that I'm sure some of you out there are anxious to see....
